XX LAB
An animated short film directed by Anne Raffin for François X.
With XX LAB, Anne Raffin becomes a director. This project is the result of his encounter with the electronic music of François X and the passion that these two creators have for dystopian science fiction. To imagine her visual identity in duotones of gray and orange, she was particularly influenced by brutalist and constructivist creations, and the aesthetics of Métal Hurlant and Moebius. The main character is a figurative synthesis of the artistic duo she forms with François X, a meta protagonist with a versatile gender identity. A human being in reinvention who frees himself from a life where emotions are outlawed, and loneliness the norm. In this clip, the seditious dreams of François X and Anne Raffin take shape in a creative and subversive harmony.
